CDT 2016 codes are effective January 1, 2016
The CDT 2016 code set includes 19 new codes, 12 revised codes and 8 deleted codes. You may already have one or more of the deleted codes attached to appointment templates, patient appointments and treatment plans. These codes will need to be manually removed and/or replaced with a valid code on a case-by-case basis. Refer to the CDT 2016 book published by the ADA for complete information on code changes.
To find patient appointments that have deleted procedure codes attached, please use the Appointment List R3002 report and filter for the deleted procedure codes.
To find treatment plans that have deleted procedure codes attached, please use the Tx Plan Proc. Not Done R2003 report and filter for the deleted procedure code.
Please note that the account ledger and patient history will retain the previously assigned code description for procedures posted prior to December 31, 2015.
